(MUST READ) A MOTHER’S NOTE TO HER DAUGHTER

Dear Janet,
Your father and I are proud at the woman you are becoming. Watching you every day from when you were a toddler to this age has been one of my greatest moments. Now that you are of age, I found it very pertinent to leave you with this note. Read it always and let it guide you always.
1. Understand what it means to be a woman because you are going to be a woman all your life.
2. If you must show off, show off what you have in your head not what you have on your chest or what you have at the back.
3. Be accessible to men but hard to sleep with.
4. Study hard, work hard; pay your bills through the works of your hand not by works of your waist
5. Love yourself unconditionally.
6. Love fellow women too. Do not pull a woman down.
7. You are not better than anyone, and no one is better than you.
8. it’s not the quantity of friends that matter. It’s the quality. Choose wisely
9. Don’t gossip. Except with me. I love it when it’s with me.
10. Take responsibility for your actions and apologize when you’re in the wrong.
11. If he makes you cry anything but happy tears, he’s not worth it.
12. Don’t sleep around with men. It is not worth it.
13. Don’t let a day go by without listening to good music. Not music that abuse your womanhood.
14. If you’re not married to him, don’t have sex with him.
15. I hear rules are meant to be broken. I do not agree with that. Rules are rules. Don’t break them. Remember this when your friends suggest otherwise.
16. If you’re not comfortable talking about it, you shouldn’t be doing it.
16. Make out time to learn how to cook other dishes beyond the ones you learnt here.  If you can, go to a catering school. This is very key. The experience will be useful in the future.
17. Learn how to say “NO”. Make sure your NO doesn’t sound like “YES” or “Stop it, I like it.”
18.  Read lots of books.
19. When people talk to you, LISTEN to them.
20. You don’t need a boyfriend to be complete
21. Never, ever bite your nails.
22.Do not take sex lightly. Never do casual sex, it is not worth it.
23. When in doubt, ask questions. Don’t assume.
24. Never be intimidated by other people’s achievement. Don’t get jealous either. Work hard for your own.
25. Smell nice always. I mean Always
26.Take pictures, take plenty of them. Be proud you are a woman.
