Gallant Soldiers Finally Enter Sambisa Forest To Flush Out The Boko Haram
The military has commenced an operation in Sambisa Forest in Borno State to flush out the Boko Haram. The forest is widely believed to host some of the training camps and facilities of the deadly sect.
It was learnt that the military high command decided to invade the vast forest in order to make the North-West safe for the general elections.
A reliable source in the Army told PUNCH in Abuja that Air Force jets started the raid on Monday. He added that surveillance activities and raids were going on simultaneously against Boko Haram.
The source, who did not want his name in print because he was not authorised to speak on the development, said that massive ground operation would follow the aerial operations .
He said, “The military started an operation in the Sambisa Forest on Monday. For now, there are no specific cases of arrest; we don’t have that information now. The Air Force has been operating in the area since Monday. It is after that that the ground troops who are on red alert would be moved in.”
Also, a source close to an office strategic to the operations said that a lot of activities were going on simultaneously in the forest and other parts of the North-East believed to host Boko Haram camps.
He explained that the military was combing the forest because of intelligence reports that some of the insurgents who were dislodged from some communities in the North- East were moving back to the forest.
Meanwhile, Boko Haram fighters attacked Chadian army positions in Gamboru, Borno State on Wednesday but were beaten back. The Chadian troops are in Gamboru as part of a regional offensive against the islamist sect, which had staged several cross-border attacks over the past week.
“We knew they were going to attack us. We were waiting. The battle didn’t last long. They fled,” a Chadian soldier said.

Libya ISIS News: Arms Embargo Should Be Lifted To Fight Islamic State, Libyan Government Says
The Libyan government has called on the U.N. Security Council to lift its arms embargo as the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL, continued to gain a foothold in the North African country. Information Minister Omar Qweri said the jihadis could be defeated by the end of the year if the ban were lifted, Russian news outlet Sputnik reported Monday.
“The ISIL positions have been identified and the militants have been surrounded. The Libyan Army is ready; one only needs to lift the embargo. If that happens, it can solve the ISIL problem before the end of the year,” Qweri said.
An arms embargo was imposed on the country four years ago following the deposition of former Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi, as the country slipped into a chaotic and multifaceted civil war. ISIS was able to take advantage of the country's instability and established it as a training ground for militants earlier this year.
The militant group, based in Syria and Iraq, released a video in April of their fighters beheading at least 30 Ethiopian Christians on a beach. A similar video was released of Coptic Christians from Egypt being beheaded by affiliates of ISIS on a Libyan beach in February.
ISIS is among one of the numerous rebel groups the internationally recognized Council of Deputies, based out of the northern port city of Tobruk, Libya, has been battling. Qweri said Western countries, which helped rebels oust Gadhafi four years ago, were responsible for keeping the country in chaos, alleging that they want to see a volatile Libya.
“The West supports chaos, rather than the General National Congress [in Tripoli]. Their strategy can be described as ‘acceptable violence,’ while Russia’s stance and Russian-Arab relations over the past 70 years have been wise and mature,” Qweri said in an interview with Sputnik.
The government representative also ruled out support for international intervention in the country, though he said he would be willing to accept support from Egypt. He blamed the country's current turmoil in part on international intervention four years ago.
The U.N. Security Council voted to keep in place an arms embargo on the country in March this year, Al Jazeera reported. Libya's internationally recognized government, which was at a standoff with a Tripoli-based rival faction, has asked that the embargo be lifted to allow the government to build up its army to take on ISIS fighters. The U.N. Security Council rejected that request, although members did vote to allow for case-by-case exemptions.
Libya has been flooded with weapons and was considered North Africa's most significant hub for arms smuggling. The Security Council also voted in March to extend the U.N.'s political mission in Libya trying to negotiate a power-sharing deal between the country's two major warring parties.

Every Husband Should Read This

“Love her …when she sips on your coffee or tea. She only wants to make sure it tastes just right for you.
Love her…when she "pushes" you to pray. She wants to be with you in Heaven.
Love her…when she asks you to play with the kids. She did not "make" them on her own.
Love her...when she is jealous. Out of all the men she can have, she chose you.
Love her…when she has annoying little habits that drives you nuts. You have them too.
Love her…when her cooking is bad. She tries.
Love her…when she looks disheveled in the morning. She always grooms herself up again.
Love her…when she asks to help with the kids homework. She only wants you to be part of the home.
Love her...when she asks if she looks fat. Your opinion counts, so tell her she's beautiful.
Love her…when she looks beautiful. She's yours so appreciate her.
Love her...when she spends hours to get ready. She only wants to look her best for you.
Love her…when she buys you gifts you don't like. Smile and tell her it's what you've always wanted.
Love her…when she has developed a bad habit. You have many more and with wisdom and politeness you have all the time to help her change.
Love her…when she cries for absolutely nothing. Don't ask, tell her it’s going to be okay.
Love her…when she suffers from PMS. Buy chocolate, rub her feet and back and just chat to her (this works!).
Love her…when whatever you do is not pleasing. It happens and will pass.
Love her…when she stains your clothes. You needed a new shirt anyway.
Love her…when she tells you how to drive. She only wants you to be safe.
Love her…when she argues. She only wants to make things right for both.
Love her…she is yours. You don't need any other special reason!!!
All this forms part of a Woman's Character.
Women are part of your life and should be treated as the Queen.

• The best of you are those who are the best in the treatment of their wives.”~*
